Whichever you choose, the shape is the same: we agree on a time and place, shoot, and your edited photographs arrive in a private gallery. What changes is how long we have and how many frames you come away with. Any questions, just drop me a message and we can discuss the details!

Step one to three

How it works

    Get in touch

    Message me with roughly what you’re after and your preferred date. If you can, suggest more than one.

  2. 02

    We pick a time and place

    I’ll suggest locations and the hour of day when the light will work best. If you have somewhere in mind, great, just let me know.

  3. 03

    Photos within five to seven days

    Edited and delivered to a private gallery you can download from and share.

Common questions

What are mini sessions?

Mini sessions are short, fixed photoshoots (usually 20–30 minutes) held on specific dates at a pre-set location. Unlike full, custom sessions, they run in back-to-back time slots and focus on a specific theme or seasonal setup. They are a quick, fun way to update your photos without committing to a full-length shoot!

“I’m not photogenic.”

Almost everyone says this. Usually it means they have only ever been photographed by surprise, at bad angles, under a kitchen light. Give it twenty minutes with someone telling you where to put your hands and it changes.

What should I wear?

Whatever you feel comfortable in. Plain colours photograph better than busy patterns, and it helps if everyone in a group is roughly in the same key, all casual or all smart, rather than a mix. Bring a second option if you can’t decide.

What happens if it rains?

This is Dundee, so we plan for it. Light rain is often better than bright sun and we will shoot anyway. If it’s genuinely unworkable, we move to another date at no cost, or I might offer a studio photoshoot instead.

Do I get all the photographs?

No. Depending on the Session, you get between 5 and 12 edited photographs of your choosing. You can view every frame worth looking at in a private gallery, but only the photographs you choose are edited and available to download.

How far do you travel?

Dundee, Angus, Perthshire and Fife. Travel within fifteen miles of Dundee is included; further than that, I will add a small mileage cost and tell you beforehand.

About

I’m Nikola, your go-to photographer in Dundee, Scotland.

I photograph portraits, couples, families and headshots: in a studio when the light and weather need controlling, and on location around the city for lifestyle sessions and capturing the moments.

For years I photographed places rather than people: coastline, hills, nature and its wild animals. It taught me to wait for light instead of fighting it, and that is still how I shoot portraits, waiting for the natural, spontaneous moments instead of planned, stiff poses.
